Smile on children’s faces

Yesterday evening, our team arrived at Lesvos port. A boat taking Afghan refugees to Athens was boarding.
We prepared backpacks for children aged from 0 to 10. Our backpacks contained sanitary essentials (toothpaste, toothbrush, wipes…), shoes, jackets, toys, colouring pen, teddy bears.. Our backpacks was also containing a personal good luck message written by children living in London.
We personally handed the bags to each child we met at the port. First intrigued, we showed them what the bag was containing. Their surprised faces quickly turned into excited and smiley face.
We could see children wearing our backpacks walking or running to get into the boat.
That was our way to make sure they were all ready for the trip and wished them well.
